I need to have my import from After Effects move

I have a movie that I made in After Effects and put onto my timeline. It is less than 6 seconds. I need to move the movie from left to right to stay focused on the letters which march across the screen. I am thinking there must be a script that I can use to do that. Any thoughts?

Put inside a moveclip and you should be able to move it and animate it.

That doesn't seem to work. EVERY time I try to move the scene across the stage it insists that I convert it into a symbol. Once a symbol I've lost all that I created in After Effects.
