Illustrator and SVG import failed with new adobe Animate 20.0 OS X Catalina

On Mac OS X Catalina, when importing an illustrator or svg file, the last Animate 20.0 returns the error message "file format is not recognized".
Do you have a solution or is it a bug?

Sometimes happens when I have non outlined text or an unusual effect or object in the SVG that Animate doesn't like. Think basic and try eliminating anything unusual from the file. 

You can paste from Illustrator as the other poster suggested. It's a shame it doesn't work the other way round too...
