Lines disappear when converting lines to fills

I drew with the pencil tool, then after I finished the lineart, I converted it to fills. But as the title suggests, some lines disappeared when I converted from lines to fills. I'm not really sure why this is happening so I'd be happy if anyone knows a solution. I've searched around the forum and I haven't found a single answer.  I'm using Adobe Animate version 21.0 by the way.

Hi mate,

This is an ages old problem with Flash. (I have known it for at least 15 years.)

It happens where you have fine details and 3 or more lines intersecting.

The workaround is to use drawing objects (1) or to not connect the lines perfectly (2) when viewed in outline mode.

2. These will still optically connect when certain line thickness is applied and look OK when converted to fills, but no fragments will disappear.

1. If you use Object Drawing for certain intersections, you do a pass to convert to fills and then you break apart.
