ovrelapping symbols

i made a face saved it as a symbol then made a mouth and saved it as a symbol then when i tried to drag the mouth to be in front of the face it went to the back 

does anyone have a solution to this if so please let me      know.

Man, you really spammed the tags for this thread. ActionScript? Exchange extensions? Tablet? What do any of those have to do with your issue?

Well anyway, are you working with a single layer or multiple layers? If a single layer, you can press Ctrl-Up Arrow/Down Arrow to move symbols forward and back in the stacking order. Or you can right-click the symbol and select Arrange -> Bring to Front.

If you're working with multiple layers, you can drag a layer toward the top to make it draw earlier.

Or you might be doing a combination of both.

Also, shapes will always (within the same layer) always draw behind groups and symbols.
