Paint bucket tool not working

Im working on my own mod for Friday Night Funkin and im trying to fill in a color for the body, but it wont fill and its frustrating. The head and body are seperate layers if that helps

Im using Adobe 21.0.5 and im on Windows 10

are the body shapes closed (ie, 4 sided)?

are the body shapes a symbol (or symboles)?

yes the body shape is a symbol and it still doesnt work also now the erase tool isnt working it doesnt erase anything on the current layer

with symbols, you can't use the drawing/fill/paint tools. 

 

double click the symbol to get to the symbols timeline where you can use those tools (unless that's also a symbol in which case double click again etc until you get to a non-symbol on which you want to use those tools.

1. The object which has to be filled should be a single Shape. I can see you have used a Drawing object to close the top edge of the body in your drawing.

You can either draw the top edge by disabling "Object Drawing Mode" mode from Tool properties

or

Select all the object and Right Click > Break Apart

 

2.   Also check- Hide the Head layer and select the Body layer and close all the sides(there should not be any gap in the outlines)

2.  Choose the Paint bucket tool and choose "Don't Close Gaps" from the properties panel

3.  Try to fill. You can use other modes like (Close Small,Medium,Large Gaps) if the shape you wanted to fill has gaps
