Pencil or brush tool. How to keep brush style

Can't seem to find this!

If I select a stroke it is easy to change the brush style of that stroke.

Once I have selected a style my brush will revert to a normal line when I use it again.

Question: How to I keep a style active on the pencil or brush?

For example: Ink style

I want the brush to always use this style but it will not. It reverts. Meaning I would have to select every line and change them one by one.

Do you need to apply the style for each line! Doesn't seem to make sense.

I'm missing something here.

Thanks.

Any ideas?

Is it possible to use the ink stroke, or any stroke for that matter, and keep the selected brush?

I can't use any brush from the brush library.

Well I haven't found a solution for this...If there is one. It looks to me that you can choose a stroke and transform the style but you can't  use a style and keep it active on the brush.
