"Test Film in Animate" not available

Hello,

I am new to Animate, but I have worked regularly with the older Flash-Versions. I am missing the "Test"-Function, where I can also see what I was tracing in my scripts via "trace("whatever")". However, I am only able to test my movieclip in the browser, all other options are grey.

Maybe someone can help...

if you're creating an html5/canvas project, that's expected.  use console.log() instead of trace and the developer tools of your browser.

Thank you for posting in English. For your interest the English translation is Test Movie.

If you meant to be making an ActionScript 3 FLA you can use the File/Convert To/ActionScript 3.0 to make the format that Flash Pro is best known for.

Thanks.  I am a teacher and when some of my students turn in their work I had this issue of not being able to test in animate.  Undenounced to me they had not started an ActionScript3.0 document, but instead HTML.  After I saw you post I did the conversation and it solved the problem.  Thanks again for posing great support.

Same here! Teaching in a lab; needed a quick way to test movies. This Convert To... works well. Thank you
