Adobe animate is one of the worst animation tools i've used.  Harmony Toon Boom has a bit of a learning curve but is capable of handling WAY more. 

before adobe blames my computer, my computer can handle logic pro x, harmony, and photoshop all simultaneously.  32gb Ram brand new Mac.  not my computers fault. Adobe Animate crashes, runs slowly, stutters and is overal an absolute waste of time and money.  ESPECIALLY for students.  Same goes for Premier as well.  I allocate all my ram to Premier and the thing can barely handle a minute of video. once again the computer is brand new with 32gbs of ram.   it's pathetic, make the switch and be smart with your money. stop giving it to Adobe until they figure out how to be great again.

Here's some adobe animate tutorials that might help you enjoy adobe aniamte more. Toon boom is a very complex animation program. Adobe Animate is more simplified. There is a newer version 21.0.1 that you should try that fixed bugs and have some great new features.
