is there any way that using an animation tablet and a laptop, you could view two different screens so that the animation tablet is the drawing and my laptop for the animation editing etc..

Hi mate,

 

You can open another view of the same file, move the timeline to one of the dispays and look at different locations, say Main Timeline in one of the views and inside a Symbol in another.

 

To do so go to the Window menu and choose Duplicate Window.

 

You can then detach/undock the tabs holding these separate views and place them on the two screens.

 

See if that works for you.
