walk cycle and run cycle on different frame lengths

I have a 16 frame run cycle and a 24 frame walk cycle. This is an issue because when I loop them, the run cycle disappears before the walk cycle finishes playing through. They're the same character using limbs from the same library so I can make changes to the same limbs in both cycles in real time. Is there any way to make each cycle into a symbol without hindering my ability to edit the parts of both cycles together so that I can just loop both from start to finish at the same time?

The least common multiple of 16 and 24 is 48.

If you want to keep them on the same timeline you need to have two repeats of the walk cycle and 3 of the run cycle.
