Worth it to buy a AS3 book

I am a designer, not a programmer, but I can get my way around actionscript if I need to. I would like to know more about actionscript for my own personal knowledge. What book do you think is the best. I have looked on some different forums and it seems that learning Actionscript 3.0 by Rich Shupe is what most people recommend. What does everyone think.

Learning Actionscript 3.0 by Rich Shupe for sure. Then for a deeper look into the language, try Essential ActionScript 3.0 by Colin Moock.

absolutely. The code is usually reliable, where as online you tend to get some hacked code. I use Actionscript 3 by Todd Perkins - Hands on Training - Lynda.com

cool, thanks. I just bought the book Learning Actionscript 3.0. I will let you know how it is. YES, Todd Perkins is awesome. That is where I have learned my actionscript so far.
