Hi community,

has anyone run into this problem?

A simple and single left click in the waveform editor is selcting the entire waveform.

this happens in both the waveform and spectral display. And it happens approximately every 10 clicks or so.

It's rather frustrating, any insight would be helpful.

thank you!

Unless you've somehow got your mouse to simulate Ctrl+A (unlikely, I would have thought... 😉 )that shouldn't be happening!

The only thing I can think of immediately is that this is another bit of weirdness caused by the 'Use hardware acceleration for drawing (restart required)' switchable option in Preferences. If, on the other hand, you are using a Mac, I don't think that this is an option (although I'd need a Mac user to confirm that).

So if it's there and has a check, take it out, restart Audition and try again. And vice versa...

Thank you so much for your help.
I think this helped me isolate the problem as the mouse. It's a logitech mouse and apparently some of them can get a build up of static electricity that results in double clicking.

I set the Windows double click rate to the fastest option and that has minimized the problem until I can get a replacement mouse.

Again, thank you for taking the time. I deeply appreciate it!

Well in that case - much to my surprise - your mouse has simulated Ctrl+A!
