Hello, I have the problem with Adobe Audition crashes / shuts down, when I edit and playback a recent done recording in Edit mode (wav 24 bit 96kHz stereo). This happens so often that it is impossible to use Audition on this specific computer.
It is possible to recover the crashed file, somtimes with added glitches at the end.
Audition 24.4.1.3
The computer is a HP Elite SFF 800 G9 Intel i5, 12500, with Windows 11 pro 23H2 22631.3593.
I had the same problem with another computer, but it was solved by reinstalling Audition. I have tried reinstalling the crashing version, but with no luck.
Kind regards
Mats

The only reference I can find to the GoCart failing to load appears to point the finger of guilt at your video card. The thing to do is to see if there's an updated driver for it, especially if it's an Nvidia - they update their drivers, sometimes almost weekly, and Audition has certainly been known to do some weird things when running outdated ones. I have to check this every time M$ update the OS - that's predictably a good update point for Nvidia.

Thank you Steve, the graphics card is a Intel UHD Graphics 770, the computer is new, so I will check if its possible to update the driver.

There certainly do appear to be recent updates for the Graphics 770...

Hello, now I experienced the same problem with another computer: Audition shuts dow unexpectedly during simple editing of a stereo 24/96 wave-file.
Audition Build 24.2.0.83 on a HP Z2 G4 Intel i7-8700 with Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2 22631.3593, graphics card: Intel UHD Graphics 630.

Audition shuts down when I play the end of a recent 45 min recording, if I only record and then save the file, there is no shutdown. I have used Audition for several years on this system without any problems.

All I can say is that all of the huge jumps in tick numbers seem to occur when your ASIO driver is invoked. Just as an experiment, could you try using the Windows MME driver and see if the same thing happens?

Thank you Steve!
The crash seems to be related to the ASIO buffer setting in the Lynx Hilo driver: when I lower the buffer to 8192 instead of 16384 samples, Audition is not crashing so far.
And Audition works fine with both the MME and Motu 24Ai ASIO driver.
Thank you for the help, Mats
