I have to say that Audition is notoriously good at recording exactly what it's been sent in the way of audio. How have you been importing the audio?

I'm afraid that I don't quite see how that can be, as Audition has no control whatsoever over what is being sent from your Mixcast. As a suggestion initially, can you try exactly the same thing with Audacity (or any other recording software) and see what happens then?

Okay, I've had a look at the Mixcast reference manual, and I think I may have figured out what might be happening... I have questions, although this is primarily Windows-based: Do you have Audition set to use the Tascam ASIO drive class? If you do, as far as I can tell, the Mixcast outputs its stereo mix to input channels 1 & 2, but the sound pad playback sounds go to channels 13 and 14, which you'd have to enable as separate input channels. If this is the case, then Audition hasn't cut the pad sounds at all - you just haven't asked it to record them.
It also appears that if you change the device class to MME, everything will be sent to the only allowable pair (L and R), and this is probably what's happening with GarageBand - possibly explaining why it appears to work correctly. With Windows, it's only ASIO that will let you record multiple channels - unless as a sound device manufacturer you pay Microsoft a fortune, MME will only record stereo.
But if you are using a Mac, then I would have thought that it's the full-blown aggregated device that shows in device connections, and the sound pads would again be separated out.
I should stress though that this is only what I've gleaned from the Mixcast reference manual, and their explanations sometimes leave a little to be desired. Anyway, there are a few things to try.
