i have this problem for a long time, every time I try recordig stuff in adobe audition, At first it’s all fine, but then every thing becomes fuzzy and distorted, but then it passes away, and then comes back, note it Does not affect the recording, it’s clear without distort, but When this wave comes Every this is distorted even the playback or in recording. I am frustrated how do I fix this ?

Oh and I am using Audition cc

Hi Hishami, did you ever get this solved? I have the same problem, not with any recordings from Audition (I never use it for that), but multitracking from different sources.
Playing the files separately, they all sound fine, but in multitrack, they're distorted.
Only a restart seems to clear the issue up for a while.

I am facing the same issue. Doesn't matter whether I record Waveform or Multitrack, the audio playback in Multitrack section is distorted and the empty space between sound waves becomes noisy. Same as you guys, when I play the audio on Waveform page there is absolutely no issue.

When It comes to exporting, if I export from multitrack the final file will be distorted and files exported from waveform are totally fine.

Possibly here, different things are happening. If we take the last one first - this tends to happen if you shove the levels in Multitrack up too high - the mixdown will cope with this because of the Floating Point system, but your sound device won't be able to cope with it until they've been normalized in Waveform view. So the first thing to do is make the mix in Multitrack a bit cooler (this won't affect the quality in the slightest) and see if that improves the situation.

As for the first post - that sounds more like a driver issue, and is possibly something that Windows is interfering with, but to get anywhere with it, we'd need rather more information. What version, what driver class, what sound device, etc - otherwise we couldn't even begin to locate the source of the problem.

Hi, I'm having the same issue. We are using a Soundcraft Ui24R mixer and every time we try to record on multitrack, all the lines came very distorted. But this don't happen recording on single track, even if we max out the gain and the volume from the track.

If you do a multitrack recording and then exit Audition and then play the seperately recorded wav files (say using media player or similar) are they distorted?

If they are not distorted then they aren't being recorded with distortion

Do you have any fx on any of the tracks or buses?
