I have recently bought a monthly Adobe Audition trial. However, as soon as I started using the program, I started having problems. For some reason I can’t record anything properly. All the buttons are active, but when I press “record” the red vertical line either doesn’t move at all, or moves fitfully each time for half a second and then stops. The strangest thing is the fact that there are rare random times when I press “record” and everything is recording well for some time, but then the problem returns.
I searched the web for the answers, but found nothing. I checked the audio hardware parameters, I let Adobe Audition access in the computer settings, tried both a USB microphone and the laptop’s default audio input, but nothing changed.
More to that, other audio editing programs like WavePad work fine, and this problem is only there with Adobe Audition.
Notice: when I pressed “record” in Adobe Audition, even OBS didn’t record the sound of me counting from one to ten, even though it has been recording everything just a second before that, and when i stopped the Adobe Audition recording, OBS started recording again. However, when I pressed “record” in WavePad, OBS didn’t stop recording the audio.
This is the example:
What should I do?

Well there's clearly no audio getting though, never mind anything else... Can you show us what you see in Edit>Preferences>Audio Hardware, and also Audio Channel Mapping? (same path, option underneath)
