I recintly updated my computer with new video card (Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050ti) and more ram. Now Adobe Audition will not start. I see lots of posts about this but NO solutions?? Audition pops up in my menue bar but will not open. I tried installing 22.3, 14.4 and even 12.1.5 but none of them are working. I pay alot of money for sofware I cant use right now. Its so frustrating. Can anyone HELP? Thanks so much
I have PC AMD Ryzen 7 1700x 8 core processor 3.40 GHZ 64.0 GB ram, 64 bit operating system 64x processor running on Windos 10 Pro os build 19044.1645
Whenever Audition even attempts to start, it creats a Log file. If it fails to start then it creates a crash log. To find out more about this, visit Audition crashed - now what? and locate, copy and paste the crash log content into this thread initially, just in case it's something obvious.
Thank you for replying and sending me the link. Unfortunately, that link does not explain how to copy and paste crash report? Could you please help me understand how to do that? Right now it just pops into my menue bar and freezes so I am not given the opportuntiy to generate a crash report or even open the software.
Thanks so much.
ok sorry I see your instructions to find the crash report. I am trying to do that now
Here is the log file. CAn you help?
Hard to be absolutely sure, but it looks as though Audition is having some trouble reading stuff from its Preferences folder - which might also explain why this is happening with previous releases too. You need to make sure that the path to it is correct, and make sure that you have Administrator rights on the machine. If it doesn't turn out to be that, then send the log to firstname.lastname@example.org along with an email address and ask to be contacted.
Ah thank you, I have had this problem before on a different computer but with PP. The software was automatically loaded to the computer when I downloaded from CC so I presume it is in the proper place? How do I find the preferences folder you are speaking about? I would like to check that before going thru abugs.
Would you mind sharing where I can find that folder? If I remember correctly all I have to do is right click to change the pref. I should be admin on my own computer?
Thanks so much you have been so helpful
The log files are in the Preferences folder - the details are in the last post of the 'Audition crashed' page that's linked above.
