Alesis Multimix 4 USB

Question

Does anyone have experience using the Alesis MultiMix 4 USB with Audition?  I'd like to know if the multimix 4 USB works well with Audition.  We are installing some new equipment in an audio lab that will be used in an educational setting. Mostly for students to learn basic recording techniques, podcasting and basic audio editing.

The MultiMix 4 USB has a class-compliant USB connection, and as such should work without difficulty. You have to bear in mind that essentially this is a 16-bit mixer, but in the environment and for the uses you are talking about, this should be fine. It also supports simultaneous playback (the interface is bi-directional), but I wouldn't recommend doing that from Audition's output, as there will be latency delay which many would find disturbing. So for monitoring, just trust Audition to do the recording, and use monitoring directly from the mixer.
