I loaded up my saved project and I noticed all the EQ effects I applied to dialogue clips have just simply disappeared. I am at 20 minutes of a thirty minute film, so I have applied a lot of EQ to a lot of clips and suddenly the fx has just disappeared. I don't know what I have done and even when I try to re-apply the EQ in the waveform view, it applies the EQ, but then in the multitrack it's not showing any fx symbol and the effect hasn't been applied. I am pretty new to audition. It's possible I have clicked something by mistake, i can't for the life of me figure out what's happened or how to fix it. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the reply; basically I was adding all eq in the waveform view but I have been saving the project for the past fe me months and I noticed that all the eq effects that I had added over time, had been saved and there was even an fx symbol on the clips in the timeline. I was basically double clicking on clips in the timeline and adding an eq preset and then saving the project. have you accidentally turned off the Effects rack for the particular track that you are working on? make sure that you are in the FX view of the tracks by selecting the 'fx' icon at the top of the track headers which will change from grey to blue. Then check that the toggle icon for the effects rack is turned on (green) for the particular track. in my image Track 1 FX are on, Track 2 FX are off.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The track fx and toggle are both on, but all the EQ fx i added has gone from the timeline. I don't know if something happened when I closed down and saved the project yesterday. But like I said, even when I re-apply the EQ effects, it doesn't apply it in the multitrack and there is no fx symbol on the clip.

Are you applying the eq effects in the track mixer, your post implies that you are adding the effects in waveform view. Unless you save the file any effects added in the waveform will be lost on reopening. It is best to add all effects in the multitrack mixer this is non destructive and will leave the original files intact.

It is possible I did not notice earlier but I was sure that after saving and reopening the project on a number of occasions the eq effects had been Carried forwards. I think I will just have to get all the dialogue that I want to eq with one preset onto one track and add a track effect. This won’t take much work just a bit of shifting around and probably this is what I should have done in the first place. But still now, when I add an eq in the waveform view and go to the multitrack there is no reference to this anywhere on the effects panel/rack and No change can be heard so i still think something might be amiss, but I am green with audition and probably it is just a case of getting to speed. Cheers.
