The current gradient (black to magenta to red to yellow to... some weird blackened yellow for clipped audio that's too loud) isn't ideal for me.
It's very common that I'll bring quiet, dynamically uncompressed audio into Audition, and I have a compressor as a track effect in Premiere. This is so that nothing gets baked into my files, but it also means that analyzing them in Audition is more difficult because the amplitude is much lower.
It's very hard to see super quiet audio. I find myself using the shortcut CTRL+B to get a B&W view that has much more contrast, which is counter-intuitive, and something I probably shouldn't have to do under ideal circumstances.
A subtle nose whistle up in the higher frequencies, as an example, can be hard to see.
I've seen competing software use colors from dark blue to orange, and I find that it's much easier to see the quieter stuff.
If you gave us a gradient editor (ideal), that lets us choose color stops and set where they are, or maybe even a few other preset gradients (not as ideal, if not editable) would be super helpful!
