Audio dropouts in Audition 25.6.0.97

I installed the new version of Audition today, and proceeded to rip nearly 60 tracks (some over one hour in duration) from various compact discs. Listening to one of the files just now, I heard a short (less than one second) dropout toward the end. I have since visually inspected a couple of files, but found no obvious dropouts. Has anyone else had this problem with version 25.6.0.97?

please share more details :

Did you noitce same issue with 25.3 ?
System details like Operating system, Audio Hardware setup, and system Hardware details like CPU and RAM.
Device Class under Audio Hardware Preferences, did you notice any diffrence if you change the device class ?
is the source audio files are stored in external or internal drive?
Is the audio drop is with both waveform and Multi-track playback?

Since only two out of 60+ files were affeceted, I now believe the problem was caused by dust on the CDs being ripped. However, to answer your questions, there were no dropouts in files ripped with 25.3. If I have this issue again, I will try changing device class and let you know! The source audio was a compact disc.  The dropout is inherent in the .wav file, so it would appear unchanged if I were to use this file in a multi-track mix.

If you play the tracks again, does the same thing happen in the same place? Have you checked that your sound drivers are up to date?

Yes! The dropout is embedded in the .wav file generated by the CD rip. So it's always in the exact same place. My computer updated its audio drivers later that same day, so if that was the issue it's been addressed.

If that doesn't fix it (which seems likely because ripping doesn't use your sound device...) try ripping the CD again using a different ripper and see if the same thing happens.
