Has Audition 1 worked OK previously? Does Audition actually record anything before it freezes? If so for how long? What audio interface are you using? Does it playback audio files OK?

Thank you for responding.

the Freezing is random.

It Will record fine for about 8 minutes the. A one secone freeze will occur. But the problem experienced recently resulted in the loss of a 24 minute recording that was just about to be complete in another 6minutes. It was embarrassing for me and my client With their guest.

Yes it plays back audio files correctly.

I believe we are using Realtek High definition audio. Not sure.

If you are using the onboard soundcard with Windows drivers then it is likely that something Windows has done has grabbed the soundcard and altered the audio settings. Make sure Windows Sounds are turned off so that they can't interrupt your recording.

However I would say that using such an old version of Audition with an ancient Windows operating system and onboard soundcard isn't really the recipe for happy professional use with clients IMHO.
