Hi - I am part of a broadcast op that is trying to migrate forward a bit. We like Adobe Audition 3.0 and prefer not being part of a subscription service. We previously purchased 10 or so copies of 3.0 for the op, but now no one knows where the record of licenses are located. So upon a need to re-install, we will run into a problem. I have no idea if this was a vendor point of sale, or if we purchased form Adobe direct - as this would likely have been 1997-2003. Is there anyway to connect a company name (Citadel Broadcasting at the time) to the licenses? Or a physical address? I know things are done differenly now. But we - like a lot of companies - are in a cash crunch - and it's not feasable at this time to consider paying for 10 subscriptions when we already have a previoulsy licensed tool that still works. I also noticed when I logged in, Cumulus98BC came up. I didn't set that up - so maybe I'm already a step closer to connecting to past record. Help? 🙂

I'm afraid you're out of luck. Even if you could find your licences, they wouldn't authenticate as the server for this failed well over a decade ago. To get around this, Adobe released a version that would work with a universal licence key (that was freely available), and for quite a while, that's what everybody who needed to re-authenticate used. But then, a couple of years ago they withdrew it - based on advice from their legal team - and we aren't allowed to question the reason for that.
If you are diligent, you may find by searching around where that version and its licence key might still be lurking. But that's the only chance you stand of getting Audition 3 going now.
There is one bit of strangeness related to this. If you can find the download, the one thing it doesn't have is the 3.0.1 patch. But that is still available from Adobe! It's here.
