Audition 5?

I own Adobe Audition 5. It's always worked perfectly the few times per year I needed it but now I can no longer open the software. It appears I'm forced to buy the latest CS version. I own a late 2018 Mac Book Pro and run the latest OS.

It's expensive based on how little I will use it. What are my options?

Thank you,

Richard

Well, Audition 5.5 won't run because of Apple, not Adobe - Apple decided that nobody's entitled to run any 32-bit software that uses CoreAudio on any of the last three (I think it is now) versions of their OS. So whatever you end up using, you are going to need a 64-bit version of it. As long as you don't need a Multitrack view, and don't mind putting up with its rather banal appearance, then you might like to consider (<shudders>) Audacity - now they've actually fixed it so it will run on Catalina...

Well I thought that may be the case. Thank you. It's unfortunate Audacity
doesn't do multitrack.
