Audition CC play button illuminates but playhead doesn't move

I first discovered this when I tried to send audio from Premiere Pro CC to Audition CC. The file shows up but I cannot play back anything. It's not that the playhead moves and I don't hear anything. The play button turns green but nothing moves. I tried exporting the audio from Premiere as a .wav and importing it into Audition directly and had the same problem. So I restarted my computer. Same problem. I uninstalled Audition and reinstalled it. Same problem. I cannot seem to find anyone having the same problem on the forums. This problem as existed since updating to the lastest CC. Any ideas?

If the file loads and the playhead doesn't move, that only means one thing; you are disconnected from your sound device. Nothing else at all stops the transport.

Thanks Steve! I wouldn't have guessed that was the problem. The only thing I changed in my audio hardware was the input device. Setting it to none seems to have fixed it. Everything is working fine now.
