Like many of my fellow post-ers, I'm getting increasingly frustrated with Adobe's instability.
My computer was selected specifically because it was designed with Adobe Creative Suite usage in mind.
I am attempting to create an audible for my book.
Today, I hooked up a RODE NT USB mic, changed the preferences under Audio Hardware, and it crashes every time on this screen. I cannot even open a new audio file after changing the preferences.
I am researching other programs because time is money. And in addition to the money Adobe has been getting from me for close to two decades, I am losing money on the time I am spending Sending Crash Reports and trying different options.
If anyone has a workaround, I will take it. If not, I'm moving on from Adobe.

The thing about this forum, and any other, come to that, is that people only post when they have problems, and that is likely to give one a slightly, shall we say, distorted perspective, because you hear nothing from the millions of users who aren't having your particular problem; you've only got access to the complainers. And yes, Audition seats run into the millions.
Anyway, I know of several other users who get on fine with Rode USB mics in Audition. If you get an actual crash, then can you post the crash log here? That way, we might be able to ascertain why this is happening.
