Audition for music and sound design?

Contributor ,

Is it possible to use Adobe Audition for sound design aswell as creating music?

I know that, at least when it comes to music, there are far better options out there. But I'd rather just stick with Audition if possible.

I'm not looking to create anything out-of-this world (I've never made a song in my life) and just looking to make something really basic to accompany some motion graphics projects.

One of the things that Audition has going for it when it comes to relatively simple production is that it supports looping, so if you create or download bits of music or musical phrases, it's easily possible to extend them so that they can be used as backing tracks. There used to be an accessible library of these called 'loopology' and in fact it is still available (last time I checked) but somewhat awkward to download as you have to do it using a FTP process - it's not a simple download at all.

Hi,

yes, it is possible. The Instruments and Sounds have to be created on the Instruments external or put in via another program but the Editing, Cutting, Mixing and Mastering itself can be done in Audition.  Hope that helps.

Henrik

There's a link to the thread discussing this here (and I will check that it still works and report back on that thread).

But in general it's relatively easy to use Audition for creating simple tracks - more so than a lot of other software, because it's not cluttered up with a load of stuff you simply don't need.
