Audition has recently started crashing during editing; "no file asset"

In the past couple of weeks Audition has been crashing frequently, saying that the files have no asset. Lost a lot of work recently. I've been using Audition for years and never had this issue before.

 

Screen shot below. I'm working on an M2 MacBook Air with OS Ventura.

 

Appreciate any help you can offer.

I've updated to OS Sonoma and Audition 24 and I'm still having this issue...anyone with an idea on this?
