Audition keeps resetting on opening

Hello

I'm not quite sure what the issue is, but for the last few days, every time I open Audition, it has reset to a completely different layout than my preferences. Ideas? Thank you!

I realise that this seems a bit basic, but when you've set your preferences, do you save them as a preset or just rely on Audition remembering what you did last time it was running?

Hi Steve, that is indeed what I do: assume Audition knows my preferences. Why? Mainly because it only reset like this very rarely (every couple of years), but this week has been something else. I've saved it now as a preset. Thank you!

I'm not sure whether this will have any impact on your problem but is there any reason why you are still running a version which is some nine full releases behind the current latest?

Great question. No clue, especially since I use the monthly payment option and haven't gotten any notifications on updates. Off to check that as well. Thank you!

I also have the same problem, this situation has existed for several months, even I recently changed a computer from imac to mac studio, the problem still exists.

Every time audition changes my layout, I have to switch back to my own workspace and shortcut preset, which is very frustrating.

My macOS and Creative Suite are both up to date, but my own Photoshop and Illustrator are installed in Chinese, so I don't know if this is relevant.

I'm not sure how this works on a Mac, but on a PC you need to have Administator rights and make sure that the correct user is logged in, otherwise strange things can happen (or not happen) on closedown. If you save your layout, close Audition and immediately re-open it, does the layout change?

I am the only person using my Mac, there are no other user accounts on this computer.

If I close Audition and restart it immediately, the layout doesn't change, it usually takes a few hours or a day before the Layout is reset. Every time I see the Audition Learn window, I know my Layout has been reset again 😣.

It sounds as though you have some sort of a system-protection policy on the machine that only allows you to retain settings for a limited time. It's a Mac so I don't know how this is handled, but it sounds as though it might be worth looking into the settings for your Audition Preferences folder.
