Audition not registering input from Focusrite 2i2 on new MacBook Pro 2020 (with USB-C Adapter)

Hi guys, hopefully someone can help.

I have just purchased a new macbook pro and wanted to keep using my focusrite interface for recordings. I kept everything set up just as before, but the only difference to my old laptop is that I now have to run the USB through an adapter due to the latest macbooks only have USB-C ports.

Audition recognised that this interface was connected, by name and everything, so I have it set as the default input on the Audio Hardware preferences. However, when I try to record (ensuring the R and I buttons are both clicked on), it isn't receiving any signal.

Weirdly, I am able to record fine on Audacity. And the mac itself is getting signal from the mic using this interface... it's just Audition that isn't liking it.

I tried loads of things and nothing worked. Has anyone else had issues with adapters and Audition not linking up right?

Would appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks!

Sorted! I had a look on the Focusrite help centre and found an article that fixed the problem 🙂

It won't let me post a direct link but the article is titled 'I cannot get audio signal into my software since upgrading to macOS 10.14 or 10.15 on my Mac'.

Basically, I had to go into my system Privacy setting - Microphone - then tick the box for Audition.

Can you confirm that this particular interface worked fine on Audition previously? Have you checked to see if there's an updated driver available?

Yeah it all worked fine previously.

I have checked for driver updates. This is what it says on the Focusrite website:
