Audition Running Slow and Clips Unlinking

New Here ,
Jul 07, 2020 Jul 07, 2020

I edit a 1-hour long podcast with 4 different people talking and a music track. Audition works great for me and I don't plan on replacing it any time soon. But when I get near the end of my initial edit, I find that it can take up to a second or two for my play head to move to where I click or to begin playback. Now, this wouldn't be an issue, but like I said my initial edit. I still have at least another hour or so of work after the point at which this begins to happen. I am running Adobe Audition version 13.0.7 on Windows 10 version 10.0.18363. I am running both Audition and my audio tracks off of an SSD, I have an 8-core processor clocked at 3.9GHz and 32GB of RAM.

I have also recently noticed an issue where about 15% of the time when I save my project, the clips magically unlink themselves so I have to go back and manually relink them. Which would be fine, but I save at least once a minute. And any time I can save not having to relink clips that should not be unlinked would be fantastic.

If anyone has any solutions or thoughts, they would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

LATEST

The problem of "unlinking" of clips, aka clips being reported by Audition oa "off-line", has been acknowledged as a bug in the latest release version I understand.  The solution is to install the latest Beta, which has resolved this problem.  You can access and donwload this via the CC desktop app, left hand column, choose "Beta apps".
