I became an audition user, monthly payments, a few weeks ago and am using it now consistently.
This morning I opened audition as usual and up popped a window as if I was a new user and invited me to a trial.
IT WILL NOT LET ME START WORK UNLESS I OPT FOR THE TRIAL
IT IS VITAL I START WORK
WHAT DO I DO PLEASE?

My subscription is valid and current. I don't even know about creative cloud. Did I join CC automatically when I started my monthly payments for Audition do you think, or maybe they are part of my monthly Acrobat Readers which i have been paying for years. Goodness, this is all so complicated and all I want to do is to record and edit on audition. I don't need all this extra stuff. I have dropbox and google drive and we transfer and god knows what. and now I am terrified that Adobe thinks I am on a 7 day trial (which was the only way could get on with my really urgent work the other day even though i pay them monthly) and they will switch it off. Thanks for your suggestion of the link, but it raises more questions than it answers.

You had to join; you couldn't have downloaded the software otherwise. In the link above, probably the most important thing to do is to find the app and update it. Normally it shows up on your desktop (I think that this is the same for Mac and PC) and its icon looks like this:
Once you've found it, go to the Help menu, and check for updates.

Ha. Thank you so much for your advice. I really appreciate it, but I found it and it tells me that I have Audition (well they got that right!) and that i have an update so I click on automatically update which it does and then the message on the screen is START TRIAL. It's a good thing I am half bald already or else all the hair that i am pulling out would make a real mess at my desk.

oh and by the way, for some reason I seem to have 2 user names on the adobe postings, this one above mikef3 and

anyone out there know how I can just keep one by cancelling the other, but in doing so NOT cancelling both??

I can't fix your user-name problem, but I'll have a look later and see if I can identify somebody who can.
If you've found the app and updating it didn't make any difference, the next thing to do isn't what it says on the help page, but the easier solution - run the Adobe CC Cleaner app, following the instructions carefully. This does a bit more than just clean out the Hosts file, and should solve your problem.

Okay, the user-name situation should be resolvable by going to the community help page,
It has also occurred to me that having two user names may actually be a part of your problem. If this is the case, you'll need to contact Adobe directly.

many thanks for all your help. The second user name has only just occurred. Ie when I went on today it asked me to give a user name not realizing I already had one. my main problem started before that,. But your advice worked I hoped. I have done what you suggest and posted a request to keep just one name.; this one

Here we go again. I open audition this morning and I am told that I have 5 days left on my TRIAL. Trial? I have bought it. I have set up monthly payments!!! I have been happily using it for several weeks!! Now suddenly I am having a 7-day trial??? What is going on??? If I cannot open my audition properly to record and post in 5 days time, this enormous project goes down the tube. Nice feeling to have. NOT

If you ran the cleaner app, and this is still happening, you'll need to contact the Adobe helpline directly, and don't let them try to bounce you back to the forum!

Thanks for your continuing steady advice. The cleaner app looks quite dangerous so I will go direct to the adobe helpline. Many thanks.
BTW do you know if it is possible for me to save an effect as a favourite. There is a particular parameter preset I have for high pass filtering and when I am making multiple revisions I use it a lot.. Fewer clicks would help greatly.

If the app was dangerous, it would either come with a health warning, or be removed. As it is, it comes with neither, so it's pretty safe to assume that it's okay. I mean, it is designed to fix problems, not create them!
Yes, you can save effects as favorites. You might need to edit the result after making and saving the keystrokes though - the system is a little screwy for my liking, and I don't think it always gets things right. In general for applying an effect to a selection you've made (this generally works fairly sensibly) you need to edit the preset so that the settings look like this:

thats a great reply thank you. By dangerous, I meant that I understood what you originally suggested "follow the instructions carefully" and when I looked I could see why. As i am in the middle of a hugely important project, I cannot take the risk of a wrong keystroke so in that way it is dangerous.

If you have an important project, then make sure that the session file is in a folder of its own, along with copies of all of the associated files it uses. At this point, you could remove everything Adobe on your machine and reinstate it without any risks to your project at all.

Thanks SteveG, I back everything up with Dropbox, Google Drive and an external hard drive, But it's just while I complete the 22 hour narration of this tome, I need the wonderful punch and roll software that audition offers.
I have 2 back up DAW software, but they are nowhere near as comprehensive and efficient as Audition.
Once I have completed the narration, about 60 minutes per day I will stay where I am as it were.
I saved my HPF 80 Preset to Favourites and it worked well thank you again

My problem has been solved very quickly by the adobe chat helpline. If anyone else out there had this problem or has it. Here was mine and here is how adobe swiftly solved it.
I purchased Audition end March
It worked wonderfully for ma few weeks
then on opening up - a message that I was on a 7-day trial
Every day - you have 6, you 5 days left etc
Today-your trial has finished when you close this message you leave Audition
During this last week several people have been kind enough to help solve the problem, but in vain
So today I managed, I think by accident, to find a CHAT line to adobe help.
I gave them my order number and they told me to log in to CC app.
I did. But the problem remained and I told them.
But, they said you have not signed in with the correct email address that you first registered with us!
do it again with the correct one. I did. It works. It was as simple as that
So if you have more than one email address and I have a few. Always remember which one you used to register with. In this case, I could sign in with 2 different emails, but only one was connected with an audition.
hope this saves somebody the anxiety I had.
