For context, I am using a Dell XPS 15 9520 laptop and a RODECaster to record. Audition has been working fine for me until today.
When I opened Audition, it told me that my audio preferences had changed and asked if I was okay with that. I said yes because I had just turned on my RODECaster and figured it was switching from the computer microphone to that.
Now, when I hit record, the cursor moves at a glacial pace and doesn't pick up any actual audio. I have no levels either. I do not believe it is an issue with my microphone/RodeCaster because I have levels there and recording works fine in Audacity. It also continues even if I do switch back to my laptop mic/speakers.
I tried switching from MME to WASAPI based on other advice here and that fixed the recording issue but my audio was instead distorted. I've also restarted/shut down my computer and uninstalled and reinstalled the app with no success. I appreciate any help you can offer!

At the bottom of this page on the Rode site it will tell you that what you should really do is download the ASIO driver. MME and especially WASAPI appear to be fearfully slow with Rodecaster, and the only success that I've heard about with it have been using the ASIO driver.

Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately, it looks like that's not the issue - still having problems even with the ASIO.
