Audition will only play WAV files through my headphones and not through laptop Realtek speakers

I have been adjusting my audio hardware preferences to assure I have the laptop speakers selected as the default output. I'll get about a second of the WAV file to play and then no audio even though the level bars are moving.

I was using a preview file from Adobe Stock, but I don't believe that is the issue because I opened an old Multitrack from a different project with no stock, and the same results happened.

I am using the 2024 version of Adobe on Windows 11.

After spending too much time on this I have figured it out... noise cancellation in my audio settings on the computer was the culprit. Weird.
