Auto Play volume setting?

Hey Steve! Do you know any reason why/how my focusrite could suddenly be the reason why Audition freezes up playing audio? Everything else is active when this happens... i can click on files, open and close them, but the playback ( and in a couple of cases-recording too) freezes. If I unplug my Focusrite, it unfreezes and starts playing audio. Drivers are up to date.

I don't know of any specific reason, but there have been a number of comments about what could best be described as 'erratic' performance from some Focusrite devices. I think that they tend to work better, possibly more reliably, if you use the ASIO drive class.

I've heard that but it doesnt seem to offer an output source and I use separate speakers. I can record in it but i'd have to switch over to MME for playback.
