C5 edition. Not seeing Onyx being allowed in channel mapping all of a sudden. Attn: KM

I have Audition 5. I truly love it, but all of a sudden I am receiving messages in Channel Mapping. I do see my Onyx Artisit 1-2 showing in Audio Hardware (still I get the message of: The device settings could not be applied because the following error occured. MME device internal error. The last valid setting will be ued. {that never happens}).

I can see my Onx in default input/output/masterclock.

In Channel Mapping, Device Microphone (Onyx Artist 1-2) Not Working

Nothing showing in the two channels below that.

In Channel Mapping, Device Speakers (Onyx Artist 1-2) Not Working

Nothing shnowing in the channels below that.

When I go to exit that (olut of frustration), it states: The last valid device settings could not be set. Please check your audio hardware.

(Which we go to the top of this and round and round). 

I am lost and frustrated, and far from a tech. Had this working so well, and it is my release/distraction from issues. Love my music, love Audition, and this has me so flabbergassed.

May I ask anyone for some assitance?

Have you tried updating the drivers for the Onyx? You can find them here.

Hello Steve, I did go to Mackie, had a bit of problem, the first time the download would not open. So I stood back, waited went in downloaded it and I am up and running. I appreciate your help, it settled the nerves and I can only say thank you and to any others who jumped into the fray and helped me. Best to you, sir.
