Hi all,
Has anyone found a way to help remove breath noises in audition? When I record videos, I have a lot of breath noises, which my asthma makes even worse. I know natural speech has some breaths, but these are loud and there are wayyyy too many of them. I have tried using plugins like the debreather, but it didn't work for me. I tried noise gates, but that wasn't working well because it cut off some parts of some works, but since the latest update it's even worse. Even with the autogate threshold set at -60db, it's cutting off words while missing the breaths. Using autoheal to do them individually takes a long time (hours to get through 10-15 minute clip). I need something more efficient. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

To get any processing working at all reliably for this sort of job, the faults it has to deal with all have to be at the same level - which is why you'll have a lot of trouble with threshold settings. You need to be really careful with recording levels and exactly how you are with respect to the microphone before you can get this to work consistently, and since these sorts of sounds tend to vary a bit, even making a lot of effort isn't necessarily going to give you a good result.
Most of the improvements you could make to this situation will involve microphone placement. Whatever you do, don't have it directly in front of you, but have it slightly higher up than your nose, and slightly off to one side - this should reduce the amount of bronchial pick-up in the first place. I don't know what mic you are using, but in my experience dynamics tend to deal with this better than condensor mics, which pick up everything like this rathe too well.
The other thing of course is to medicate yourself just before you record...
