I attempting to write to a CD ... Adobe Audition 1.5 => CD Project View (tab) => Write CD (button) => message "No devices found".

The CD drive is connected to a laptop via a USB port.  The laptop recognizes it as "DVD RW Drive (D:) Blank Disk.  Please advise.

Have you actually put a blank CD into the drive so that your system knows that it is CD to write to rather than a DVD or no disc? Have you managed to do this previously successfully? Unfortunately I suspect that AA 1.5 is too old to recognise modern USB connected DVD RW Drives in present Windows versions.

Yes, it is  a blank CD in the drive.  I know AA 1.5 is old.  I was hoping someone had a solution.  Thanks.

Completelly wrong approach!!!

The software does not recognizignt he BURNING DEVICE!
In the past I have done thousands of Audio CD burning via Audition 1.5!

In the same time when you try Extract Audio from DC is workng perfectly!!!

Possibly this has to do with a Windows issue!

I've been using Audition 3.01 for years and years. Suddenly, and I don't know what changed, WRITE CD in the CD view does nothing. Same with the FILE menu option to write to CD. Also OPTIONS > CD DEVICE OPTIONS does nothing. But FILE > EXTRACT AUDIO FROM CD sees that my K drive is indeed my CD drive so the problem is not that Audition can't find the CD drive. I've labored at this issue for a long time but have failed to find a solution. I have a blank CD in the drive and have my CD view populated and ready to go but nothing works. I've read about CD write issues on various forums but nothing specifically about failure to display the WRITE CD dialog. I'm afraid to uninstall and reinstall because I don't know if I have all the serial numbers and if a reinstall will suceed. Audition is my audio recording software that I use frequently and don't want to risk messing up.

Actually it's not true that nothing happens when I click WRITE CD. I've highlighted all the files in the CD view and when I click that button, the blue-highlighted tracks turn to white. But that is all that happens. Does that mean anything? Maybe indicates some kind of error?

Also I discovered that if I try to create a CD with too many songs that would require more than 1 CD, clicking the WRITE CD button does display an error about needing more than 1 CD.

Maybe something I can change in the settings XML file? I've tried deleting the folder "...\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\3.0" so it gets recreated...didn't help.

If it matters, my audio hardware is USB, a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 ASIO and I'm on Windows 10 x64 with all updates. This is a tower computer custom built.
