I just want to be able to hear myself in my headphones, but nothing I do get rid of the latency and reverb sound, with no in between. Using a Mac with a 2i2.

You can only get rid of processing latency if you monitor yourself directly using the 2i2 only. The moment you monitor via any form of processing, latency is inevitable - just because of the conversion delays with A-D conversion. This is completely unavoidable - which is, of course, why the direct monitoring option exists.
