Hello all,
I have been editing in multi track in Audition and over the past two days I have run into a problem where I saved a file (sometimes under a new name) and when I go back to open it the next day nothing happens.
Audition will start up when I open the file, but nothing will load. This has happened three times now, with three different session files.
I have saved the session files properly. Audition has never crashed. I tried "open recent" but since I had restarted my computer that cache of recents is gone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You need to ask program questions in the forum for the program you are using

If you are losing the cache of recent files between restarts, it rather points the finger at the preferences folder being cleared, either at start up or closedown, and this shouldn't happen. This almost certainly indicates that something about the way your computer is set up is behind this. One thing you could try is to run Audition specifically with Admin rights. You can do this by right-clicking on the icon and selecting 'Run as Administrator'. Normally this is achieved by granting Admin rights to that particular user, and with Audition you can run into several problems if you don't do this. FWIW, most of them relate to missing files and sessions. Try that first before we look any deeper...

The previous post tells you exactly how to run Audition as Administrator, starting on line four. What's not clear about it?

I am also facing the same problem. This is showing "the byte stream type of URL is not supported".I am not able to open already saved file.
This is saved as .pkf .is this okay in this format?

.pkf files are just peak waveform display files - there is no audio in them at all. Hardly surprising you can't open it, because it can only be opened when the correct audio file for it is opened.

Can't fully answer that question unless you tell me exactly how you're recording. Waveform or Multitrack, for a start...
