Cant get Audition to work with my interface.

New Here ,

I have tried to connect my microphone through two different interfaces (Focusrite Solo and Steinberg UR12) into two different brand new computers (HP Elitebook 840 and Acer Nitro 5) but I have not been able to get my studio microphone to work with Adobe Audition CC 2018.

Here's some details:

The computers can see the mic and I can see levels moving on windows sound settings. I can also hear the test tones on the playback side of windows.

The latest drivers have been downloaded and confirmed to be working correctly.
I can hear the microphone through the interfaces just fine and audio played back from Youtube and other sources sound fine.

And here's the thing: Audacity sees and records audio just fine. I can even record in Audacity and export it into Audition and edit the file just fine, but I cant record from within Audition.

Through my Sherlockian powers of deduction, I conclude that Adobe Audition is the problem... But what is the problem and how do I fix it?

I've dug through the Audio Hardware settings and I've tried both MME and AISO settings. I've also tried a third party ASIO driver (ASIO4ALL)...

But still cant get Audition to recognize the microphone. There are no error messages, just no input at all when I record.

Does anyone have any idea what the Hell I'm doing wrong? Is it channel mapping? I dont know what I could have done differently.

Audacity and Windows Sounds use the basic Windows MME audio drivers. However both of your interface manufacturers provide specific ASIO drivers which are the ones you should be using for best results within Audition. ASIO4All won't really help since it only uses the Windows MME drivers and converts them into a pseudo ASIO driver for audio software  and hardware that doesn't have specific ASIO drivers.

When you open Audition's Audio Hardware settings page what options do you see in the Device drop down list if you select ASIO as the Device Class? Can you post a screengrab of your settings page here for either of the interfaces so that we can see the selections available?
