Clicking on mp3 in a folder & file won't open in Audition

It used to open up without a problem.  Now, when I click on a file from the folder (with AA open),  the window reverts to AA, but the file never opens.  Same thing if I close AA - I click on the file, AA opens, but the file does not appear!   

I'm on a Windows machine with Windows 10 Pro.
