Cursor behavior when recording stop

Is there any way to prevent Audition from highlighting everything you just recorded when you press the space bar?

Not in Waveform view, no. In multitrack, which records direct to file, this doesn't happen. Generally recording in Multitrack is a safer bet anyway, because in Waveform view nothing is saved to an accessible file until you actually save it - until then it's in a temp file. If your computer crashes between recording and a permanent save, there's a good chance that you'll lose your recording. In theory there's a recovery system, but one false move will screw that!
