In the latest Audition CC 2017 I use:
Diagnostics -> Delete Silence - > Preset "Trim Long Silen Pauses". I scan - it finds all the pauses as expected.
But no matter what I do It will always REMOVE all the long silent pauses instead of just trimming.
Am I misunderstanding the "Settings" that say "Fix by Shortening Silence 100 ms" ? (can be set to any amount of ms)
In a audio file that consists of speak It makes no sence to remove the long pauses completely.
Have you tried with larger values than 100ms. That isn't very long (1/10 sec) so may appear near enough '0' if you trim to that amount.

I beleive you are right - I keept seeing it as "shortening BY" amount of ms. So incereasing it to 500ms works great thanks!

I'm actually facing kind of the same problem. I have an audio full of little "breaks/dropouts" in the voice and I want to remove only them, and leave the long pauses as is. I've tryied many combinations but all the sillence is always removed... How to proceed?
