Doing a re-install on CS6 I got the message, "Your serial number has been revoked, please contact customer support." Of course customer support was of NO help. Anyone have an answer?

While trying to re- install Audition CS6 after a HDD crash I got the following message. " Your serial number has been revoked. Contact Customer Support."

Customer support didn't help and sent me here. Any answers out there?

Denny D.

They really shouldn't do that - and they know it. This was just a ruse to get you off the line, I'm afraid. Customer support knows full well that we have no access whatsoever to any customer information, serial numbers, or anything like that; they are being more than a bit cheeky.

A guess on the reasons for the message: how many times had you previously installed AA CS6, using this specific serial number?  I wonder whether the registration server thinks you have already installed it the maximum number of times, (by implication) on the maximum number of computers.

If so, only Customer Service can reset your allowance, I think.

I remember something similar happening to me with an earlier version of AA.  I had to use telephone support to have my entitlement reset.

Steve,

Thanks for your reply to my dilemma.

I finally got to someone at Adobe in “Customer Service” and they informed me that I have a pirated Copy. I wonder how that can be when it is from all appearances a factory product.

Denny Denham

PS You wouldn’t happen to have one for sale, would you?

Your original question refers to a "re-install".  So, is this a re-install using the same (CD/DVD) disc on your machine as you used for the previous install?  Or is this a "new" (to you) disc?

If it is the former I think you should go back to Customer Service and ask how it is you were able to originally install the app if your disc is a pirated copy.

If it is the latter I think you should go back to the person who supplied the disc and ask some rather direct questions!
