This has never NOT happened.
I open the Plugins Manager and click "Scan for Plugins," the scan window appears and, immediately, the crash notice appears. I can't tell if any scan has been done, but Audition then freezes and I have to force quit it.
Why does the scan crash at all, and why does it happen every time?

Don't know - we have absolutely nothing to go on! But if there's a crash, you can send the logs to the developers, and they'll figure out what's happening. Do what it says here: Audition Crashed. Now what? and send the results to audbugs@adobe.com
