Hi All,
Hoping for some help with this - I have a medium size session of about 20 tracks, all with EQ applied, at least one or two plugins on each ,some automation etc..the usual thing. I have all FX pre-rendered on the tracks. As I was happy with the mix I've added three plugins to the master fader channel for "mastering" type things. When I play back the sessions it all sounds as I intended...though when I mix down and export to WAV it sounds noticably different - much brighter and harsher in all the high frequencies and more smashed sounding - like a limiter has been driven much harder on it than it is.
Am I mixing down correctly? It seems like maybe my master channel FX are being applied twice or something maybe and messing with the sound? Ive tried all I can think of but its still the same and I can't find any other export options to tinker with. Teh FX on the master channel are saturation, a clipper and a limiter.
Thanks in advance!

having a similiar problem,i tried the following steps: switching off master fx (except "remove subsonic rumble" for speaker-protection),which are really beasts,i found a little bit more clarity with this mixdown.(you can add the "beasts"again in the mixed file).BUT: Switching off the prerenders for JUST mixdown (don´t try to hear controll anymore),and adding the beasts, processing to the mixed file, brouhgt the original sound again.the typewriter-effect on the kick was there again, the whole dynamics etc.looks like prerendering only to use for working on the editor to avoid crashdowns, shuttering etc.,i use a lot of plugins,so i just make that channel-fx green,i`m working on. for the final mixdown,i make them all green again....
