I am wondering if someone might be able to ensure that I have things set up correctly in order to do a podcast. I have great equipment but no idea how to use it. I'm told that I am probably just missing something simple

Are you looking for a consultation with somebody? Or help here on the forum? In order to help you anybody would need to know the exact equipment you use and what kind of missing pieces you are looking to solve 🙂

We can't do this - we are a U2U forum and in hardware terms, anything beyond basic details of how to get the software to talk to it, we can't do. When it comes to podcasts, everybody's requirements are different. There are any number of videos on YouTube about this, and you would be much better off studying them first. Specific queries we can cope with - "tell me everything about...' questions we can't. There is one piece of advice I can give you now about using Audition for podcasts, and that is that under no circumstances should you use the Multitrack Podcast template - it will lead you badly astray. Use the default template instead, and have far less difficulty.
