File download box appears when opening Adobe Audition files from OneDrive

Hi,

We recently upgraded one of our end users laptop and installed Adobe Audition. When they are trying to open files from Audition which are saved on One Drive and the shortcut is in File Explorer we get the following download box. I asked the end user to close down the software and re-open and open the same file and the 2nd time no download box appears. As the end user is not very IT literate I have best explained why this is happening but they are wondering if there is any way to avoid seeing the download box

We are running Windows 11 Pro on a Lenovo E15 laptop.

Working with remote files often throws up issues like this; the handshaking protocols really don't like the timing issues caused by working at the end of a 'piece of wet string', AKA the internet.

Audition really doesn't like opening files this way, and it gets even more upset when saving to a remote source. Fortunately there is a simple solution, and that's to download the files you want to work on to a local disk (no loading issues from that), and also save the results there. Only when you've done the work should you upload it to OneDrive. People have also reported issues where OneDrive is tracking the folder you are saving to - it only really works reliably when there's no outside link at all.

So the bottom line is - Don't use Audition for file transfers!
