Going wireless. Audio interface?

I'm trying to ditch my desktop and all the stuff that plugs into it. I wager my interface is something that I will have to plug in when I want to record. However, is there one most suitable to plugging and unplugging frequently?

I am a Windows user, although I change laptops annually it seems. I use Audition 3.0, but I'm fine upgrading if that's what it takes.

Thanks!

How do you record your audio now into your desktop with Audition? There are loads of USB interfaces out there depending on your budget and what features you require.

Currently, I use a MobliePre which has USB1 connection. It's old, so before I started researching if there are drivers available for newer laptops, I wanted to ask around to see what others use. Thanks!
